Selecting Game Console
We all need entertainment or some sort of break from the daily routine; it can be just watching a show, movie, listening to music, reading, drawing, playing video games, sports, anything that helps you to feel refreshed after. Video games for example are very popular and with the advance in technology, they are now available for most people to play since becoming more accessible, especially with the rising amount of online PC or mobile games.
On the traditional side, we have game consoles where video games originally became popular but, to follow the demand of players that are getting more complicated as well, companies are making advanced products with each of the releases and this is great for customers to always have the widest and best option available. While there are not that many to consider, considering we only have three major platforms, it is still confusing to pick one, moreover none of them are cheap as well so we want to invest on the best platform.
PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo are all great systems with their own pros and cons so when it comes to selecting one, it can be a bit frustrating at first which is why you know someone with more than one or even have all of these systems in their setup.
When talking about consoles, exclusives are one of the biggest decision makers because we are using these consoles to play games. In the choice Xbox is probably winning for the amount of games playable or made available in the platform, especially with how Microsoft is making the older games from 360 and One playable on their new system. But, when it comes to exclusives Sony will win with their plenty of popular games so it is natural to choose this Japanese console if you are a fan of one or some of these exclusives.
Nintendo on the other hand is where you will have to head to if handheld is more of your thing. We do have tons of alternatives but Wii is a solid system for a small console and the way we can play them from either the handheld device or connecting them directly to the TV is just versatile enough to consider. They are also suitable for younger players with many games that are kids friendly. They are often fun to play with friends where you can enjoy the time together next to each other.

About PS5 and Xbox Series X
When asked what the best game console is today, it is already a difficult question and will remain so in the near future. Mainly with the competition between Sony and Microsoft, fans are enjoying what these tech giants are bringing to the table every once in a while. Since the console itself is not moving as fast as for example the smartphone industry, we don’t have to worry about the equipment age too fast for how much we have spent because chances are we are going to use the console for quite many years.
Still, they are not a cheap purchase so we highly advise to consider the choices first before deciding to buy one. If you are here then we assume that a full-size console native in home entertainment system is what you will have next. Of course we have the new releases from Sony and Microsoft with the recent PS5 and Xbox Series X. These are dubbed as the consoles of the future with so much improvement and huge hype surrounding them.
It is even quite difficult to get your hands on these consoles today because everyone seems to want them and while none are cheap, you will see them often sold out in so many places, including their online sites. There are noticeable improvements in these new consoles starting from their processing power and graphic capabilities. Especially with now PS5 is doing 4K and 8K which used to be quite a drawback back then compared to the older Xbox as many say they are not truly 4K.
However, things are changing now and while PS5 and Xbox Series X are still in their infancy stage, it is worth noticing their true potential from now. Sony has launched the console earlier than Microsoft and in comparison their hard tech are just as impressive but what we think will make the decision at least as of now is what you can play with them and this is where PlayStation will come forward. When it comes to exclusives and new titles, you can already play new experiences with this console.
PS5 and Xbox Series X Design
Before checking what these amazing consoles can offer, let’s see their unit first. Side by side, you will notice that PS5 is taller, not by much but pretty meaningful considering if you will install them below the TV table. They look fancy in a more visible place however and fashion wise, Sony did a great job with how unique the PS5 now looks, it is futuristic, we no longer see the standard black console that Sony is well-known for their previous machines.
Xbox is simpler in comparison but when it comes to build quality and manageability, this console wins in our opinion. It is smaller, still looks good while installed vertically or horizontally unlike PS5 which only looks great standing up. The housing of Xbox feels more solid as well in comparison to PS5 where the plastic can be a little bit on the flimsy side. It may not change what’s inside and overall performance but we do like how sturdy Series X is. Read also: PS5 Vs PS4.
PS5 and Xbox Series X Controller
Next we want to talk about the controller which is often missed but here the two already have a great difference. It is because the PS5 is now shipping new controllers with the DualSense so yes, no more DualShock here. What makes it better than Xbox controllers are the new features or capabilities, especially the haptic feedback which means the controller will send physical signals that mimic the in game effects, allowing you to be more immersed so it is not just vibrating like the older controllers.
Another impressive new features you will love is adaptive trigger and while Xbox have vibration feature on the triggers, Sony improve this to be adaptive means the trigger will have different tension or resistance kind of feeling for each application and this surprisingly working on more games including the Astro’s Playroom, Spiderman Miles Morales, and the Black Ops Cold War such as how each gun have different feeling to it when you press the trigger.
PS5 and Xbox Series X Games
Next for the game, this is where personal taste matters the most and to keep it simple, if you like or play one or more of the PlayStation exclusives such as Spiderman or Uncharted, then it is just convenient to buy PS5 instead. We know that Sony always wins in this section with their exclusives that made many of their fans difficult to move into another ecosystem, especially when these games are amazing as well, so it is fully personal preference.
Currently, the games that are not shared to other PlayStation are only Astro’s Playroom, Demon’s Souls, and Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. On the other hand the thing that made Xbox Series X not as necessary to buy at least for now is because Microsoft have a policy to make their games available for PC as well. But, if you don’t have any recent console yet and don’t care about exclusives, Xbox’s biggest advantage is backward compatibility means we can play older games in this brand new console.
PS5 and Xbox Series X Experience
Lastly we want to compile the overall experience with PS5 and Xbox Series X. What we think most people will like is the Game Pass of Microsoft because it is cheaper and you can play almost any games here that are not exclusive to some system. The machine of Xbox is more powerful side by side and this console is 1TB instead of 825GB which we are kind of confused about as well. They can expand storage however but only to store old games.
While VR is only provided for PlayStation here, what’s annoying about this console is AAA games run better on Xbox out of the box. The graphics of these older games are looking more impressive and processor wise it is also faster. What we dislike from Xbox is why there are ads in the menu and why the menu or UI is 1080p even if you are playing on 4K TV.
PS5 vs Xbox Series X
There is no denying that PS5 and Xbox Series X are two great consoles for the next few years. They are powerful but also completely different systems. Our focus is on the controller in which Sony’s new design feels great on larger hands and with plenty of new features which the current Xbox controllers are lacking. On the actual console itself Sony will still win in exclusives and UI side, including sound system but for the collection of games and more powerful machines in general, these older games do look better on Xbox.
- Lightning Speed - Harness the power of a custom CPU, GPU, and SSD with Integrated I/O that rewrite the rules of what a PlayStation console can do.
- Stunning Games - Marvel at incredible graphics and experience new PS5 features.
- Breathtaking Immersion - Discover a deeper gaming experience with support for haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and 3D Audio technology.
- Introducing Xbox Series X, the fastest, most powerful Xbox ever. Play thousands of titles from four generations of consoles-all games look and play best on Xbox Series X.
- Experience next-gen speed and performance with the Xbox velocity architecture, powered by a custom SSD and integrated software.
- Play thousands of games from 4 generations of Xbox with Backward compatibility, including optimized titles at launch.
The option is all yours because it is fully personal as we may play different games as well. But, if you are chasing exclusives or playing VR and want to experience the new controller, PS5 is the choice while if you only care about the amount of games to play then you can never go wrong with Xbox.
